Canon PIXMA MP500 Spec Sheet

The PIXMA MP500 is a moderately priced multifunction printer with a 2.5-inch LCD viewer.

The PIXMA MP500 has a black matte finish with silver edges. The 2.5-inch LCD viewer is embedded into the printer's front-facing panel and is surrounded by function buttons.

It features Canon's patented FINE technology meaning that it has a multinozzle print head of 1,856 nozzles. The PIXMA MP500 has a color resolution of up to 9600 x 2400 dots per inch (dpi). It has a five color ink system with one pigment-based black ink tank and four dybe-based color ink tanks. It can print a borderless  4" x 6" picture in about 51 seconds, according to the Canon website. It has a scanning resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi (optical) and 19,200 x 19,200 dpi (interpolated).

The PIXMA MP500 also has two paper trays and can print double-sided documents. For users with a compatible memory card or PictBridge ready digital camera or DV camcorder, you can plug your device into the PIXMA MP500 and print photos directly, according to the Canon wesbite. The 2.5-inch LCD viewer enables you to view images before printing and make simple edits, eliminating the need for a computer.

Photos printed on the PIXMA MP500 using select Canon papers can last up to 100 years when stored in an archival photo album, according to Canon.
