HP Releases Three New Low Cost Inkjet Printers

10th June 08 -  HP today announced the release of three new printers: the $99 HP Photosmart C4480 All-in-One, the $129.99 HP Officejet J4680 All-in-One printer and the bargain basement $69 HP Deskjet C4360. The $99 HP Photosmart C4480 AiO offers printing, copying and scanning with a 1.5-inch color display. The HP Deskjet C4360 offers document and photo printing for $69. And the HP Officejet J4680 AiO offers printing, coping, faxing and scanning capabilities at what HP describes as laser-speed prints for the price of $129.99. The HP Officejet J4680 will be available for purchase in August 2008; the C4480 and C4360 are available now.

The HP Photosmart C4480 AiO printer has a 1.5-inch monitor and HP claims it will produce black and white document prints at speed of up to 30 pages per minute and color documents at up to 23 pages per minute. It also includes a paper sensor, which HP claims can sense the type of paper in the tray and print accordingly. This printer cannot produce duplex prints or print from a Compact Flash card, but it does offer MemoryStick and SD card ports.

The HP Deskjet D4360 features an 80-page fold up tray and HP claims it can also print as fast as 30 pages per minute for black and white text documents and 23 pages per minute for color. HP also claims the Deskjet D4360 can produce up to three times more documents from a single cartridge using HP’s high capacity inks.  

The HP Officejet J4680 AiO designed for the home and small office user, and HP claims it can produce laser quality documents for less money. WiFi support is included, and the printer can act as a wireless print server for a small network of computers. The HP Officejet J4680 also offers scanner and copier features and will be available for purchase in August  for $129.99.

All three printers come with Smart Web Printing which HP claims allows users to select the sections of the web pages they want to print, saving ink and paper. However this feature is not available for older versions of Windows or Macintosh operating systems. The HP Photosmart C4480, priced at $99 and the HP Deskjet D4360, priced at $69 are available now. The HP Officejet J4680 is due for an August 2008 release at $129.99.
