HP notches things up a bit with the Photosmart C6280 and C7280. Both models feature an automatic duplexer and 2.4-inch LCD, as well as standard six-color printing (individual ink cartridges—black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan, light magenta). Both of these printers, as well as the C8810, can print as quickly as 34-second black text, 33-second color docs, and 10-second photos. The C6280 has an Ethernet port. The C7280 features wireless and Ethernet, and it adds to its office usefulness with a fax and an auto document feeder.

Like the C6280 and C7280, the Photosmart C8810 also features 6-color printing and a duplexer. However, the C8810 adds a lot more features for that $399 price tag, including a large, 3.5-inch touchscreen, which allows users to interact with menus directly on the screen instead of through multiple control panel buttons. Wireless andEthernet connectivity are standard, as is a CD/DVD burner, with which images can be archived directly without a PC. This model also provides CD/DVD printing abilities, including HP’s LightScribe technology for etching customized text directly onto CDs and DVDs. The C8810 scanner achieves 4800-by-4800-dpi, 96-bit, six-color scanning, and it can also scan negatives and slides.
