Conclusion |
|
The Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II had good performance overall; it did well in our tests for color accuracy, color gamut and the density of the blacks. It's not the fastest printer on the block, though, and the Epson R1900 did score somewhat higher in our performance tests. But the Pro 9000 Mark II is a little cheaper than the Epson, and has much of the same set of features.
Performance:
We found that the Pro 9000 Mark II had good overall performance; the color error was low (especially after we calibrated the printer) and the printer produced deep, dense blacks. However, the color gamut of the Pro 9000 Mark II was not as wide as the Epson R1900. The Pro 9000 Mark II is also not a fast printer: 13 by 19 print took over 4 minutes to produce.
Inks & Media:
The Pro 9000 Mark II uses 8 seperate ink cartridges, which can be individually changed. It can also handle a wide range of media to print onto, including thick card thanks to the straight paper path.
Other Features:
The Pro 9000 Mark II doesn't have a lot of other features; it is a printer designed purely for printing photos
